That We May Die With Him
Spoken Word by Mikey & V
I didn’t follow because I believed
every prayer would be answered.
I followed because I couldn’t stay
in the silence of not knowing Him.
There was a girl.
There was a promise.
There was a death
that came anyway.
And I watched Him move mountains
for strangers,
but not for her.
I watched the One who opens graves
let the one I loved
stay buried.
And still… I stayed.
So when He said “We’re going back to Judea,”
back to the danger,
back to the fire,
back to the death,
I didn’t flinch.
I just said:
“Let us also go,
that we may die with Him.”
Because this isn’t about doubt anymore.
It’s about death.
The kind that strips your name,
your logic,
your timeline.
The kind that cracks your chest open
so the Kingdom can get in.
Thomas wasn’t scared.
He was awake.
He knew that sometimes
resurrection only comes
after everything else stops breathing.
He knew the call doesn’t always end in healing.
Sometimes it ends in surrender.
And so he walked.
Not because he was sure.
But because he was certain
that wherever Jesus went—
even into death—
was better than staying behind
with unanswered prayers.
Final Word:
Faith doesn’t always sound like “I believe.”
Sometimes it sounds like:
“Let’s go die with Him.”
Not because I want to die.
But because I’ve already learned
what it costs to live without Him.
